BakBalls are designed to reverse joint stiffness and correct slouched, hunched forward posture that significantly contributes to back pain.

Step 1 Position BakBalls between your shoulder blades and ensure they are positioned horizontally on either side of your spine. To prevent your shirt getting tangled pull your shirt taut around you before you start.

Step 2 Start by using the BakBalls lying on your bed. Bend your knees up, use a pillow behind your head and keep your arms by your sides to reduce pressure from lying on BakBalls. Don't roll vigorously or quickly on BakBalls.

Step 3 Lie STATIONARY on BakBalls for 15-20 seconds, then roll the balls down your spine 2-3cm and lie still again.  Continue until BakBalls are resting in your lower back this should take around 5 minutes.  Once your tolerance increases, you can increase the pressure from BakBalls by moving to a carpeted floor.

Step 4 To further increase pressure delivered from BakBalls to your back, remove your pillow and fold your arms across your chest.

Step 5 For maximum pressure you can raise your arms overhead as illustrated right.

BakBalls at the Office You can also use BakBalls sitting in a chair. Whilst sitting, use BakBalls for no more than 5 minutes, 3 times a day.

How it Should Feel During use, bakballs can elicit a aching or painful sensation and occasionally a crack or pop, which are all normal sensations.  After use, it is possible to develop a 'bruised' sensation similar to what you would feel from a strong massage. This is a normal temporary response to treatment and shouldn't last longer than 1-2 days. You should not continue using BakBalls if pain persists, and see your local doctor or health professional.

How Often to Use BakBalls Initially use BakBalls once every 2 days for no more than 4-5 minutes. Once your tolerance increases you can use BakBalls up to 3 times a day but each time for no more than 5 minutes. Ensure that you don't fall asleep on BakBalls!

Other uses for BakBalls BakBalls can also be used to massage the balls of the feet and muscles around the shoulder that are commonly tight and knotted.  BakBalls can also be used for massaging tight leg muscles such as the calf and hamstring muscles.  Place the BakBalls on the ground and sit with your injured or tight leg on top of the BakBalls and roll back and forth to achieve the required massage.
